Fleur de Louise

Welcome to the Flower and Gardening blog of Fleur de Louise Flower Studio.

This blog aims to share things I love about flowers and gardening from current trends to historical stories relating to horticulture; happenings in my own garden and seasonal ideas for yours; floral events from around the world; favorite plants and flowers; design photos that I find inspiring and new design ideas and upcoming events at Fleur de Louise Flower Studio.

I once saw a quote by Vincent Van Gogh. Of course his words pertained to painting, but I have found inspiration in his words and made it my own as it relates to horticulture.

I dream of flowers and then I plant my dream.

Quite literally I do dream of flowers and my dreams are often my inspiration in both the garden and the floral studio. For me, gardening and floristry are intertwined. “A florist is like being a gardener. As you make a bouquet of flowers you collect colors, shapes and textures together as you do in planting a garden… It is an intensified version of the same process, yet liberating and free because it is [ephemeral].” Sarah Raven

Whatever your floral dreams are, I share your excitement and want to make your day special and memorable. I believe that flowers should be part of everyday and part of the extraordinary days as well.

As always, let me know if I can brighten your day with flowers. In the meantime, sit back and enjoy the Dig and Design blog. I plan to send out a short blog post 2-3 times a week depending on the season.

Van Gogh’s original quote was “I dream of painting and then I paint my dream.”
