Kokedama Join me for a class in May at the Minnesota State Horticultural SocietyEvery time I make these, I can't keep them in stock. They are unique, fun and easy to make!
The Japanese phenomenon of Kokedama is all the rage in London. Literally, Kokedama translates as "koke" moss and "dama" ball.A form of Japanese garden art that is centuries old and related to bonsai, kokedama is a unique way to present and display plants. The moss ball is the focal and supporting point for a sculpted tree or plant which is then displayed on a platform or suspended from string with the plant growing out from the sphere. Kokedama are great displayed hanging or in a decorative bowl or basket. Many plants work well in the form of Kokedama. Ferns and orchids being two of my favorites. Tuesday May 9th, Fleur de Louise will be teaching an informative introduction to Kokedama followed by a guided hands on tutorial to make a kokedama for your self or to give away. You will make one kokedama to take home. Extra materials and plants will be available for purchase if you catch the craze!
